How to get GHANA CARD if you don't have some

The NIA has opened it's Registration exercise again at the NIA Headquarters at Shiashe in Accra along the 37- Madina road.


This second wave of registration is a little different from the previous one which was absolutely free of charge for every citizen. *IT IS NO LONGER FREE.* 

There are now three Different Classifications:

●UPDATES 

●REPLACEMENT 

● FRESH REGISTRATION (Citizens & Foreigners).


 *For Updates,* that is if the name on the your card is spelt wrongly, wrong date of birth, wrong height etc. You Will be charged *GH c30* for an instant fresh card.


 *For Replacement;* that is your Card is *lost* or *missing.* You will need to report to a Police Station for a Police Statement Report. which is free; you only have to explain how your card got missing. Along with this police report you have to have on hand a Copy of the Registration Form on which your details were recorded during the initial exercise.

The charge is *GH c30* for an instant fresh Card. 


 *For Fresh/New Registration,* For refusing to register for free during the past years (2018, 2019, 2020), the charge is a whopping *GH c250* for a fresh Card. 

The NIA earlier introduced two packages for individuals who are unable to register for the national ID cards during the nationwide free mass registration exercise to do so at a fee.


The two packages, institutional and premium, would be done at GH¢100 and GH¢250 respectively.


The Head of Public Relations at the Authority, Abudu Abdul-Ganiyu, commenting on the fees charged said people requiring premium services for their registration would be charged GH¢250, while institutions with more than 50 employees can also invite the NIA to their premises for the registration at GH¢100 per head.


For those who have already registered but could not get their card, the Officers are there to assist you get your cards instantly. 


*Please Note that in June 2022, if you do not have the Ghana card you cannot use your phone anymore because the card is going to be used for your phone SIM.*



*Pensioners should take this exercise very seriously because very soon you may not get access to our monthly pension pay if you don't posses the Ghana Card.*
